SCHUEY SHOCK How Michael Schumacher’s family sought to hide £ 1 million photo of an F1 legend which was leaked by a ‘friend’ | FormulaNASCAR

MICHAEL Schumacher's family fought for three years to bury "secret" photos of the Formula One legend leaked by a "friend."
The photos were allegedly smuggled out of the former racer's Lake Geneva home in 2016 and sold for a whopping £1 million.
Since his shocking skiing accident in 2013, no photos or videos of Schumacher have been seen, though a rare health update was issued last week.
In an off-piste crash, the hero suffered "traumatic brain injury" and was placed in a medically induced coma. A year later, he awoke.
Since then, the former Ferrari and Mercedes driver has been recuperating at his home in Switzerland with his family.
The anonymous photographer took advantage of the opportunity to sell a first look at the injured 53-year-old.
The unknown person, who is thought to be Schumacher's close friend, allegedly took a photo of the star lying in his bed.
The photos were then allegedly smuggled out of the family's mansion and attempted to be auctioned off to outlets across the continent.
Offenburg prosecutors later confirmed that "an unknown person" had taken "secret" photos and was selling them for "high amounts of money" - thought to be close to £1m.
They described the heinous act as a "violation of his personal range of life" and a violation of privacy.
An investigation was launched at the time, but it has reportedly been halted, despite Schumacher's distraught wife Corinna pleading with cops to intervene.
The European news outlet that was given the exclusive first look at the icon refused to reveal its source.
The unnamed news outlet also claimed it had never seen any images of the legendary driver.
Former Ferrari CEO Jean Todt revealed a rare glimpse into Schumacher's life last week.
'HE'S VERY STRONG.'
The FIA president, who remained close to Schumacher after the ordeal, recently told a German TV channel that he visits the star's home on a regular basis.
He stated that Schumacher still enjoys watching Formula One races nearly a decade after retiring from the extreme sport.
"I don't miss Michael; I see him," he told RTL. Yes, I do watch races with Michael.
"But I guess what I miss the most is what we used to do together."
Mick Schumacher, Schumacher's son, has followed in his father's legendary footsteps and is carrying on his father's racing legacy.
Todt stated that Schumacher Jr. is under "a lot of unfair pressure."
He previously stated that he "hopes the world" will be able to see his dear friend again, adding that Schumacher has "never changed."
"I never leave him alone." "We've had so many experiences together, him, Corinna, the family," he said.
"The beauty of what we've seen is a part of us, and it lives on."
"Success and money can change you. But Michael has remained the same. He's incredibly powerful."
Another of Schumacher's former friends, unlike Todt, believes he has been excluded from the icon's home.
Willi Weber, his former manager, accused the star's family of lying about his condition.
The 80-year-old is still "angry" that the brood hasn't kept him up to date on the F1 legend's health since his skiing accident nine years ago.
'ALL THE WRONG LUCK'
Corinna, Michael's wife, has been a staunch supporter of her husband's recovery for nearly a decade.
She was moved to tears during a standing ovation as she accepted an award on his behalf in Cologne on Wednesday.
In an emotional interview for a new Netflix documentary last year, the Schumachers broke their silence on the family's suffering.
"I've never blamed God for what happened," said Corinna, 52.
"It was just bad luck - all the bad luck that anyone could have in life."
"It's always awful when you wonder, 'Why is this happening to Michael or us?' But how come it happens to other people?"
"Of course, I miss Michael every day," she sobbed as she told interviewers. But I'm not the only one who misses him.
"It's his children, his family, his father, and everyone else around him."
"Everyone misses Michael, but Michael is here." Different, but he's here, and I think that gives us strength."
