"Liam Lawson steps into that role following the
announcement of Juri Vips," Red Bull team chief Christian Horner said
overnight at Silverstone.
Lawson is presently ranked tenth in his second season of F2,
but has struggled recently.
He finished last in the sprint race in England overnight. He
was racing for Carlin and was firmly inside the top eight when front wing
damage forced him into the pits midway through the race, putting him to the
back of the pack.

The Vips were fired by Red Bull last week for using a racial
slur during an internet gaming stream.
Red Bull suspended the 21-year-old Estonian last month
awaiting an investigation into the language he used. Vips had expressed regret
for his acts.
"Following an inquiry into an online incident involving
Juri Vips, Oracle Red Bull Racing has terminated Juri's contract as its test
and reserve driver," Red Bull said in a statement. "Any type of
racism is not tolerated by the squad."
Last month, Vips replaced Red Bull F1 driver Sergio Pérez in
the first practise session for the Spanish Grand Prix, finishing last.

This season, Vips had three podium places for the Hitech
Grand Prix team in the F2 competition.
The situation is identical to Kyle Larson's, the 2021 NASCAR
Cup Series winner who was punished in 2020 for using a racial slur while
playing a video game. His sponsors dropped him and Chip Ganassi Racing
dismissed him, but he spent time absorbed in diversity programmes before
returning.
