FormulaNASCAR- PewDiePie, a Swedish YouTuber with 111 million subscribers, recently faced backlash after appearing to mock a deaf woman in his recent video titled "My Dog Cringes at TikToks..." The content in question was a reaction video of the YouTuber and his dog to viral "cringe" TikTok videos, one of which featured a deaf TikTok creator.

Scarlet May, a TikTok creator with 6.2 million followers, was involved. She is well-known for her delicate nails, which she frequently flaunted in her amusing "story time" videos, which were always accompanied by American Sign Language.

She shared an entertaining experience in a fast-food drive-thru in a video she posted on July 18 last year. The deaf woman shared it with her viewers in sign language and with eye-catching long silver acrylic nails, as she does in her other videos.

Scarlet May's TikTok video was included in PewDiePie's reaction video, which he found too painful to watch. "I'm not listening to this," he mocked. Not satisfied, he held both of his dog's paws and imitated Scarlet May and her sign language.

"Look, Maya (his dog), she has your crazy nails!" "I'm sorry, are my nails distracting you guys?" he asked in a low voice.

The video elicited numerous responses on social media platforms condemning the YouTuber's disrespectful behavior.

At the same time, some users defended PewDiePie, claiming that the YouTuber was only mocking Scarlet May's nails and that people were misinterpreting it as him mocking the TikTok user for being deaf.

Scarlet May responded to the case with another TikTok video after receiving multiple requests to speak out. "If you made a mistake, admit it," she said, explaining that her condition was not something to mock.

PewDiePie had already edited out the disputed section of his video and pinned a comment clarifying his position at the time of writing. "Had no idea she was deaf," he wrote, "but kinda stupid of me not to notice.

" He also explained that he was only making fun of her long nails, that the modified voice was the same one he had given his dog for years, and that the moving of the dog's paws was meant to mock the unnecessary gestures that he noticed were common among many. "Anyway, honest mistake, my bad," he said at the end of his comment.
